The highlights of the stage
The fraction, since the first kilometers, follows a script predictably written with a narrow breakaway to play for the win and the best in the general standings to control. Among the most active at the front we find Joshua Golliker (Groupama FDJ), already winner and yellow jersey in Pré de Pascal, which in the first kilometers of the GPM of Champlong leaves the fellow escapees and flies to the finish of Breuil Cervinia in search of encore. His pedal stroke is excellent and even the final climb along the Valtournenche does not seem to tire him. Nothing to do, then, for his pursuers and double shot of absolute prestige for the young Briton. The first to reach the finish line after him are Jorge Gutierrez (Equipo Finisher) and Colin Savioz, team mate of the winner. The race for the general classification, however, sees the group of the best in control up to 4 kilometers from the finish line when the war begin. In short, the top four of the overall standings remain alone: Darren Rafferty (Hagens Berman), Alexy Faure Prost (Circus King Uz), Isaac Del Toro (AR Monex) and Charlie Page (Bourg Ain). The ground to make big differences, however, is now little and the four arrive frayed, separated by a few seconds with Del Toro to precede Faure Prost, Soriano Pau Marti (Israel Premier Tech) and Rafferty, yellow jersey Eaux Valdotaines with arms raised on the finish line. The curtain falls, then, on the Tour of the Aosta Valley with the triumph of the Irish Darren Rafferty (Hagens Bermans) who clearly precedes, thanks to the real challenge accomplished in the stage of Clavalité, with 2 minutes and 22 seconds ahead of the Frenchman Alexy Faure Prost (Circus King Uz) and 2 minutes and 57 seconds of the Mexican Isaac Romero Del Toro (AR Monex). At the foot of the podium we find Charles Paige (Bourg Ain), followed by Witse Meeussen (Alpecin Deceuninck) and Pavel Novak (Team Colpack Ballan CSB). To follow Marcel Camprubi (Q 36.5), Brieuc Rolland (Groupama FDJ) and Francesco Galimberti (Biesse Carrera), first of the Italians. To close the top 10 Emiel Verstrynge (Alpecin Deceuninck). At the end of the five days of the race, the remaining jerseys of the race go to: Joshua Golliker (Groupama FDJ) blueu jersey Valle d'Aosta, Jonathan Vervenne (Soudal Quick Step) polka dot jersey CVA, Dylan Vandenstorme (Circus Re Uz) red jersey Haute Savoie Le Département of the Sprint Catch and Alexy Faure Prost (Circus King Uz) white jersey Cervino Ski Paradise of the under20 category. Team Colpack Ballan CSB, on the other hand, won the team classification while for what concerns the special prizes, the Battista Pieiller award for the achievement during the race goes to Joshua Golliker, solo winner of two stages, to Pré de Pascal and Breuil Cervinia.

Tourist info
A short stroll in the square in front of the church of Valtournenche is enough to fully understand its spirit: visitors are charmed not only by the white bell tower or by the peaks of Grandes Murailles, but also by the tombstones affixed on the walls to remember the Alpine guides of the valley. They truly wrote the history of mountaineering and they were brave and skilled.
