Stage 4: POLLEIN / SAINT-CHRISTOPHE (Croux)
Everybody understood already on Tuesday in Morillon that Leonard Kämna was definitely strong, when the 18-year-old German rider led for a long while the Prologue classification of the Petit Tour number 52. In the day Power gets the yellow back again on his shoulders, after Mamykin break in Cervinia – who lost some positions on the GC from first to fifth – Kämna, at his first year, confirmed to be one of the best young rider. Twice on the podium in the Petit Tour – the same year he became time trial national champion – demonstrate the potential of this guy. And if Kämna represents the surprise, Robert Power confirms to be the One. However he Aussie still needs to ride the last stage with the climbs to Grand Saint Bernard to safe his leader jersey. Even if the gaps seems short among the Belgian De Plus and the Italian Petilli, Power is determinated the get the 52nd edition of Giro della Valle d'Aosta. Stage 4: POLLEIN / SAINT-CHRISTOPHE (Croux)
People familiar with the Aosta Valley knows that Pollein and Saint-Christophe are very close (3-4 Km). The stage is nevertheless 151 Km long, without very long climbs as it was in the previous days. The 18th July stage doesn't include climbs over the second category but Grand Brissogne, Payé and Epillod (Chetoz) must not be undervalued and the final climb to the finish line of Croux could claim some victims, at the end of a such demanding day.
