Stage 3: GRESSAN / VALTOURNENCHE (Breuil Cervinia)
It is still yet to be defined the Giro della Valle d'Aosta 2015. A race that just thursday night seemed to be safe in the Robert Power's pocket, blew out today, along the Col Tze Core, where the Russian Matvey Mamykin escaped the peloton. From the beginning of the stage, that left Gressan at 10:00 a.m., Lorenzo Rota (Unieuro) and Giulio Ciccone (Colpack) led the pack. Mamykin, who has demonstrated to have a optimal shape along the Tze Core ascent, managed perfectly the descent to Saint-Vincent. Then when the road began to rise again, Rota was absorbed by the group, while Ciccone and the Russian accelerated regularly, increasing the gap on yellow jersey group up to 8 minutes and 50 secs. Australian Team has reacted quite late: cangaroos, anyway, chased hard reducing the gap on the leaders at 3':23” on the finish line. The russian, in tears, miming the “Pistolero” Alberto Contador screaming the name of Marco Pantani, won the stage and gained the top of the GC.

Stage 3: GRESSAN / VALTOURNENCHE (Breuil Cervinia)
Friday 17th July it is time of the Giro della Valle d’Aosta main stage; from Gressan to Breuil Cervinia for 162,3 Km in total. The start is immediately tough with Col d'Introd, the climb to Les Fleurs - Pila - from Gressan - the "underside road" from Charvensod to Pontey and, finally, the climbs to Col Tzecore and Cervinia, from Chatillon. A lot of nervous roads in the first part of the stage; long and tough climbs in the final; here the destiny of the 2015 Giro should be decided.
